Hello! We are so glad you have decided to bring in our teas & chocolates! Here are few things to consider when deciding what selections are right for you. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give us a call 360-366-8013. We are here to help!
There are so many choices! How do I decide which varieties to bring in?
Finding the right teas for your shop is important. A good thing to remember when choosing is that they all taste great and look beautiful so it’s hard to go wrong.
We recommend starting with a variety of Herbals and Exotics. There are many types of tea drinkers and it’s nice to have some teas that are caffeinated and some that are not. We recommend starting with a minimum of 6 types but 12 or more will offer more choices for your customers and bring even more beauty to your shelf.
Some of our best selling Herbals are Dream Catcher, Bluebird Morning, Peace of Mind, Peaceful Spirit, Cold Comfort, Farm & Forest, Twilight Mint.
Some of our best selling Exotics include Lavender Orange Grey, Irish Breakfast, White Lemon Ginger, Jasmine Green and both our Chai teas.
New teas! The Village Green, Lemon Mint Maté and Cloud Mountain green tea.
Seasonal Teas! Winter Cheer
If you don’t see something on our best seller list that you were planning on picking- choose it anyway! All of our teas sell well and taste great.
Do you have a tea service program?
Yes! We offer all of our teas in bulk loose leaf pounds and in bulk cases of 45 & 90 teabags. We offer a beautiful display tin for each of the varieties you select at no charge. Each subsequent order comes in a kraft bag to refill your tins and to store as back stock saving both resources and shipping costs. Please give us a call with any questions. We would love to help you pick the perfect selections for your guests.
What teas make great iced tea?
While we love all of our teas iced, there are definitely a few that really shine when brewed up as iced tea. For non caffeinated options, we love Old Town Berry (this samples beautifully brewing up a rich red color), Lavender Orange Red, Peace of Mind and Farm & Forest. For caffeinated options, the simplicity of Ancient Sunrise is amazing. We also love Vanilla Rose Ceylon, White Lemon Ginger and Lemon Mint Maté.
Ok, I’ve picked my varieties, should I go with loose leaf or tea bags?
That is a tough choice. We do sell a lot more tea bags than we sell loose leaf. People love the convenience of the bag and for gifting, tend to prefer going with a safe choice not knowing whether or not their recipient has the necessary ‘’tools’’ to make loose leaf tea. Our tea bags are beautiful. They are large sized using the same fresh high quality teas and herbs as are in our loose leaf blends. They are made out of a beautiful plant based compostable silken fabric.
Choosing loose leaf is a great choice especially when you have lots of seasoned tea drinking customers. It also offers an opportunity to sell tea strainers and pots for loose leaf side by side with our teas. If you have an experienced tea customer base, they will appreciate the loose leaf.
Many shops opt to carry both.
What are your tea bags made from?
Our teas are made out of a beautiful silken plant based fabric. They are biodegradable and compostable. They are not made of petroleum based nylon.
Why do I need scent jars?
Scent jars are a great way for the customer to interact with the tea. They can see the beauty and quality of the blends and smell them giving them an idea of what they might taste like.
How should I display my new teas?
We offer our handmade wooden crates for displaying our teas. We custom make them to your needs. We can make them with or without scent jar shelves and to hold whatever number of teas you’d like. They are all made here in Bellingham, WA out of reclaimed old growth wood. Each crate is unique and has it’s own story.
We offer Letterpressed thick cotton paper signs at no charge and also have wooden signs with or without a reclaimed wooden frame available for sale.
What is the shelf life of your teas?
Our herbs and teas are sourced as directly as possible so they arrive to us fresh and vibrant. We use a beautiful, recycled steel airtight tin made in the USA to keep the tea super fresh once it leaves our shop. We can safely say that your tea will be good for at least two years.
Are your teas certified organic?
Yes! We are certified through the WSDA and the USDA
What makes Flying Bird Botanicals unique?
